Want to bring some French je ne sais quoi to your wardrobe? With our Fashion Know How correspondent living in the country of love (ahem — and wine, saucisson, cidre, stinky cheese, and wonderfully priced baguettes, we might add...), she is assessing all the latest trends on the streets so we can share them with you here.
To add a touch of French style to your cozy-chic fall look, try these tips: 1) Scarves are everything: From billowing blanket scarves to whisp-y, thin fabrics, the French know these are an autumn must for both style and warmth — an automatic enhancer for any ensemble. 2) Fitted, but not tight: From peacoats and blouses to jeans and skirts, French ladies (and gents!) employ perfectly fitted pieces that highlight your shapes and curves without revealing too much. 3) Tights: French women rarely go bare-legged, and they know that tights paired with a favorite pair of boots or flats make for one autumn-savvy fashionista. 4) Long sweaters: Sweaters that hit your hips or below are incredibly comfy (borderline blanket!) while creating elongated lines that flatter any figure. Add elbow patches for an extra touch of European class. Stay tuned for more French fashion finds!
