We've all been there. You just opened a fresh new pair of tights or stockings, and are ready to pair them with your cutest dress for one fashionable day. All's perfect in the world, until SNAG- those trusty tights catch on your jewelry, your toenail, or a piece of furniture, and suddenly you're facing imminent defeat. The dreaded, quick-approaching run is about to ruin your tights and your outfit! What's a gal to do? The life-hacks-savvy fashionista always keeps a bottle of clear nail polish (fast-drying is best) in her purse for a situation like this. Paint all around the rip to bind your tights before they run. It's the perfect quick fix, plus you'll be ever-ready to throw on a quick coat for extra shiny nails :)

...which is why we've got you covered with some quick fix tricks. If you put your deodorant on before your shirt, it requires some ninja-like movements to avoid those annoying white zebra-like stripes. Owning black, however, does NOT mean you're a ninja — especially at 7 am before work! — and so sometimes the pesky stains are unavoidable. Take it from us and keep either baby wipes or tights/stockings on hand. Both work wonders in quickly removing deodorant stains, so you can get on with your day!
Want to bring some French je ne sais quoi to your wardrobe? With our Fashion Know How correspondent living in the country of love (ahem — and wine, saucisson, cidre, stinky cheese, and wonderfully priced baguettes, we might add...), she is assessing all the latest trends on the streets so we can share them with you here.
To add a touch of French style to your cozy-chic fall look, try these tips: 1) Scarves are everything: From billowing blanket scarves to whisp-y, thin fabrics, the French know these are an autumn must for both style and warmth — an automatic enhancer for any ensemble. 2) Fitted, but not tight: From peacoats and blouses to jeans and skirts, French ladies (and gents!) employ perfectly fitted pieces that highlight your shapes and curves without revealing too much. 3) Tights: French women rarely go bare-legged, and they know that tights paired with a favorite pair of boots or flats make for one autumn-savvy fashionista. 4) Long sweaters: Sweaters that hit your hips or below are incredibly comfy (borderline blanket!) while creating elongated lines that flatter any figure. Add elbow patches for an extra touch of European class. Stay tuned for more French fashion finds! Now that the weather is cooling off have you noticed your not wearing your sandals as much and the fashion boots are coming out more often. These days boots can be worn with anything; jeans, skirts, dresses; bathing suits. Kidding! Anyway, some of us like to wear a Boot Sock with our boots. The Boot Sock comes in different lengths so that it can be seen above the top of the boot. If you find that the Boot Sock is too cumbersome, try the boot cuff. It looks like the Boot Sock but with half the fullness and three quarters less warmth. Cool concept; the Boot Cuff! |
